Fussy dog? We've got you covered!

We know that some dogs can be…particular about their food. That’s why our meals are carefully crafted to win over even the fussiest eaters.

Here are our top tips for encouraging picky eaters:

1. Warm up our meals
Slightly warming food enhances its natural aromas and flavour. Add a splash of warm water or microwave for 20–30 seconds (in a microwave safe bowl) - this can make mealtime more appealing.

2. Create a calm, safe space
Dogs eat best when they feel secure. Set up a quiet spot with minimal distractions and let them eat undisturbed.

3. Keep a routine and single meals
Offer one type of food per meal at consistent times. Step back after placing the bowl down and allow your dog to eat on their own.

4. Time-limited feeding
Leave the bowl out for 10-15 minutes. If your dog doesn’t eat, remove the meal and try again at the next mealtime. Healthy dogs won’t starve if they skip a meal - in fact, they can go for days without food. Avoid letting them graze between meals, as this can encourage fussiness.

5. Avoid rewarding fasting behaviour
Giving treats or extra food when your dog skips a meal can unintentionally reinforce fussy behaviour. Dogs see treats as higher value than their regular meal, even if they are less nutritious. Hand-feeding or offering extra attention can also teach them that skipping meals brings rewards.

Praise or small treats should come after they finish their meal.

7. Make mealtime engaging
Puzzle feeders, LickiMats or stuffed Kong toys can make eating more fun and encourage regular feeding.

Following these tips consistently helps your dog eat regularly, keeps mealtime stress-free, and avoids reinforcing picky habits.

Our meals are specially crafted to be enjoyed by fussy dogs whilst providing complete, balanced nutrition. Take our nutritional quiz for your dog, order our Starter Box and see for yourself!
